On a scale of 1 to 10, how much do you love Halloween? I’m into Halloween, but I don’t loooove Halloween. I’d much prefer Christmas and the winter holiday season. I’m not much of a Halloween decorator either. One of my fondest memories growing up is of my mom decorating for the various holidays, including Halloween. She would go all out on the spooky and fun. One year, my mom and dad even created a huge haunted house in our garage, complete with spaghetti brains and grape eyeball. I want my kids to have the same memories, so even though I’m not super into Halloween decorating, we still have some fun pieces that I like to pull out year after year.

Halloween Front Porch
Unfortunately, the few Halloween decorations that we do have, are actually in storage, but I couldn’t resist updating the front porch of our rental. Small, but mighty, eh? I ordered these light up pumpkins, but one problem, I was looking for white pumpkins, not orange. After investing in some handy dandy spray paint, voila, white pumpkins. Because these pumpkins are plastic, I love that they will be reusable year after year. We can continue to add to our collection so don’t feel the need to go out and buy all the pumpkins this year.
I paired this cozy outdoor rug with this cozy, inexpensive doormat to create a layered rug look. Don’t you just love the layered front door rug look? I picked up a few mums and placed them in this basket and this basket. If you’re worried about the baskets surviving in the weather, you can spray them with a poly sealer to prevent water damage. Our front porch area is mostly covered so I’m not too worried about the baskets.

Avery and I picked up a few Cinderella pumpkins from our local grocery store and stacked them together. I just love how these heirloom pumpkins look stacked and with their muted colors.
Don’t forget about off-season storage! We have these totes that we keep all of our Halloween/holiday goodies in. We purchased these summer of 2020 when we were organizing our garage and they are super handy (and not an eyesore).

Halloween will be here before you know it! If you still need a few decorations or fun pieces, I’ve linked a few below. I love adding to our Halloween collection year after year. It’s slowly growing and one day we’ll have a large Halloween collection to fill our home.

Majority of the votes were for Hocus Pocus, consequently I think we can all agree that Hocus Pocus is a classic. Anyways, I can’t wait to start watching some of these! What’s your favorite name type of Halloween movie? Spooky and scary or cute and funny?
